Description

A two-legged console table fitted against the wall taking up as little space as possible. Georg console desk is a functional piece suited for most rooms: As a welcoming station in the hallways where you can drop off keys and phones. As a make-up vanity in the bedroom or as a minimalist TV stand in the living room. Georg's DNA is a fusion of Nordic and Japanese inspiration with slender rounded wooden poles – crafted from light FSC-certified Oak.

Proper usage and maintenance

Proper usage and maintenance is vital for getting the most out of the valuable resources we have. Our designs are made to last for generations, but just like everything else, they need a little care to get there.
Oak

Origin
Oak grows in most temperate zones. The Skagerak oak comes from European forests and is either 100% FSC certified or FSC mix certified, coming from an area with sustainable forest management. The selection of the wood is extremely careful and all processing is by hand, so that only the best and most durable pieces of wood are used in production.

Why
Oak is a sturdy and hardwearing type of wood containing natural tannins that will protect against bacterial growth. Combined with its light, elegant colour and well-defined grains, this makes oak wood safe choice for high-quality interior.

Cleaning
Use a clean soft brush or a microfiber cloth to wipe the wood gently for dust or small pieces of debris trapped insight the grooves. For a more thorough cleaning, use a damp cloth dipped in a mix of natural dish soap and lukewarm water. If a dirty area is difficult to clean, you can use a soft-bristled brush to scrub with.

Maintenance
Oak wood is a living material. As it comes untreated, it may react to grease, colorants, changes in air humidity, and water. We’ll therefore give you a sanding sponge for easy treatment if the surface rises a bit after cleaning or before unpacking. Use it with the following instructions:

1. Sand the surface in the direction of the grain to achieve the best result.
2. After sanding, clean the surface with a damp cloth and dry it off with a kitchen towel.
3. It may take 1-2 repetitions before all grains are cut down.

Extra finish
We recommend to saturate the wood with soap or a furniture oil to make it more resistant. If you wish to do this, make sure to use a suitable product – and be aware that the wood will change colour when applying soap or oil.

Note: However, be careful when treating your product during months with extraordinary low air humidity, as it may cause minor fractures in the end grains.

Lastly, you should remember to retighten the table’s mounting bolts from time to time.
