Nicholai Wiig Hansen has designed a lamp whose linear design is inspired by the formal language of industrial technology. Hive is a lamp made of steel. The compact look of the cast lamp body is broken up by the division into rings that can be pulled apart. This gives the lamp its striking and attractive appearance. Color shades that change from dark to light underline the classic shape of the beehive, whose English name "hive" also gives the object its name.

Hive is not just an ordinary lamp: According to designer Nicholai Wiig Hansen, it is a good example of a lamp object in whose design process industrial techniques are used to elaborate the design language. His goal was to design a luminaire with a long-lasting design and a classic shape at first glance, which is individualized by a few, but striking details. Nicholai Wiig Hansen explains: “In my opinion, the design is the interesting thing about Hive. The shape, which resembles a beehive, is archetypal. The special thing about the lamp is that it can be folded up. Because of the different layers, the design is simple and decorative at the same time.
