Hans Bølling’s Optimist and Pessimist show the duality in each of us: yin vs yang, happy or sad. Their carefully designed bodies only differ in demeanor, revealing the power of expression. You can also see their difference in the posture by putting their backs together. Optimist and Pessimist embody the balance and reality of life.

Hand made from the finest teak wood, their soft hair and inserted maple and wenge wood eyes add playfulness to their character. Their rope arms are bendable, and the head can be twisted or taken off to put the arms up too.
